Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division seeks an experienced engineer to deliver automation and control solutions for generator paralleling systems, from concept through commissioning. You will lead retrofit and new projects, collaborate with dealers, factories, and field teams to ensure reliable, safe power in critical applications.

With a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related experience, you’ll apply PLC/HMI skills, read schematics, and support customers while traveling up to 50%

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience with automation and controls, including PLC-based systems; reading schematics.
• Ability to develop and troubleshoot PLC/HMI applications; strong problem-solving.
• Domestic travel and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Mansioni

• Identify retrofit opportunities; define project scope and support proposals.
• Design, program, test, and commission of low- and medium-voltage generator control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD for wiring and assembly drawings.
• Perform risk assessment and support field performance.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Product Support Center teams.
• Submit project documentation, reports and expenses timely.
• Train technicians, customers and internal teams on operation and maintenance.
