Job summary

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division seeks an electrical engineering professional to design, develop, and implement generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, working independently and with teams to execute retrofit and new projects from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities include designing and commissioning PLC/HMI applications, converting legacy PLCs, and coordinating with CAD to produce wiring drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in electrical engineering.
• Customer focus and service excellence in project delivery.
• Experience with automation, PLCs and HMIs in power systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with dealers and factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission LV and MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
• Perform risk assessments and support field performance of projects.
• Submit project docs, reports, and expenses promptly.
• Train technicians, customers, and internal teams on maintenance and operation.
