Job summary

Caterpillar's Electric Power Division seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, program, and implement generator control switchgear systems for retrofit and new projects. You will deliver automation and control solutions from concept through commissioning, working independently and with teams across the company.

You will identify retrofit opportunities, execute design and testing of PLC/HMI applications, and train technicians and customers on system operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with automation, controls, PLCs, HMIs, and field support.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints; cross-functional collaboration required.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with dealers and factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling controls.
• Convert legacy PLCs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop PLC and HMI apps using standard templates; support wiring drawings with CAD.
• Provide technical support to sales and product support teams; train technicians and customers.
