Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our team in United States-Michigan-Ann Arbor. The candidate will support utility-scale power and renewable energy design projects, leading multiple design and engineering tasks, and mentoring junior engineers.

Ideal applicants have experience in power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, and balance of plant layouts (raceway, lighting, grounding).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is required.
• Experience in Power Market Sector project execution.
• Proficiency with standard power design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support power generation design projects and lead multiple design tasks.
• Experience in power generation, distribution, protection and motor control design.
• Perform power system studies and equipment specification development.
• Develop balance of plant designs including raceway, lighting, grounding.
• Mentor engineers and support client relationships and marketing proposals.
