Job summary

Pasco County BOCC seeks Plans Examiner I–III (Electrical) to review residential and commercial construction documents for compliance with building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, gas and flood control codes.

Responsibilities include evaluating plans, issuing permits or disapprovals with code references, and advising design professionals. Education/licensing varies by level, from an Associate degree with 1–3 years experience to a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an appropriate degree and relevant experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable for each level.
• Ability to understand and apply state statutes, model codes and local ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Examine construction documents for conformity with building codes, and related regulations.
• Approve or disapprove plans and provide code-based narrative for revisions.
• Provide technical assistance to property owners and public agencies.
