Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a drafting professional for our Clayton, MO office with a hybrid schedule. You will work with a multi‑disciplinary team to produce design drawings from input.

The role emphasizes 3D CAD, training in AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation, and accurate drawings showing how installations relate to existing facilities.

We value strong CAD skills, the ability to visualize in 3D, and the capability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or high school diploma with equivalent design experience.
• Six (6) or more years of physical design experience including grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, and electrical equipment location drawings.
• Advanced drafting experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
• Ability to multi‑task from project to project.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi‑disciplinary team environment to prepare design drawings based on design input.
• Apply CAD skills and receive hands‑on training in 3D design software environments, such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation.
• Create drawings to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
• Accompany and assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project.
• Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings for appropriate design adjustments.
