Job summary

Jobot is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer P.E. in San Francisco, CA, offering a hybrid schedule. The role focuses on electrical system design for mission-critical healthcare and pharmaceutical facilities, leading projects, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for power distribution, emergency power, lighting, and telecom for healthcare/pharma facilities.
• Conduct load calculations, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies; use SKM/ETAP for coordination.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, and healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and construction managers.
• Oversee construction documents, specs, and technical reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or higher)
• 10+ years' experience in MEP design/consulting
• PE License Desired
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices relevant to mission critical and healthcare environments.
• Team leadership/management experience

Duties

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems including power distribution, emergency and standby power (UPS, generators), lighting, fire alarm, and telecom systems for mission critical healthcare and pharmaceutical facilities.
• Conduct load calculations, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and develop protective device coordination using tools such as SKM or ETAP.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 70E, and relevant healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and construction managers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
• Oversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
• Participate in client meetings, site surveys, and construction administration activities to ensure project requirements are met.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices within the electrical engineering team.
