Job summary

Stinson LLP is seeking an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within our Intellectual Property and Technology Division in San Francisco, CA.

You will draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications, provide patentability assessments, and support freedom to operate and due diligence reviews. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration with partners and staff, and meeting billable targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and ownership of patents during all phases.

Responsibilities

• Draft and globally prosecute patent applications.
• Coordinate with foreign law firms to file foreign patent applications.
• Coordinate and correspond with clients for processing and legalization of formal documents for filing in U.S. and foreign patent offices.
• Maintain client patent portfolio.
• Prepare and send notices to clients regarding upcoming deadlines.
• Meet billable hour target of 1650 per year.
