Job summary

WEG Electric Corp in Duluth, GA seeks a Mechanical Technician to assemble and prepare electrical control panels, mounting components per drawings and BOMs. You will stage parts, label components, and ensure panels are ready for wiring.

The role requires reading mechanical prints, using hand and power tools, and maintaining precise production cycles. Safe work practices and Kaizen/5S involvement are expected.

Qualifications

• Read mechanical prints, schematics, and BOMs.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to work to cycle-time/production targets.
• Hands-on experience with 5S and Kaizen events.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Mount and secure components onto sub-panels and enclosures
• Lay out, mark, drill, tap, cut, and punch back-panels and enclosures to specification.
• Apply component labels and wire markers per documentation.
• Kit, stage, and verify all components per Production Order before panels move to wiring.
• Use hand and power tools (torque drivers, bandsaws, drills, taps) and measuring instruments (calipers, squares, tape).
• Work to torque specs and standard work instructions; perform in-process self-inspection.
• Identify and flag non-conforming parts and assemblies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, 5S-compliant workstation and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to all safety standards.
