Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Manager to provide both technical and team leadership for engineering operations. You will oversee product development, electrical and controls engineering, and regulatory compliance while guiding new product development and managing a team of engineers.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, reliability, code compliance, manufacturability, and alignment with growth objectives, with expert collaboration across Sales, Production, and Service teams.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Elevator, lift, or electromechanical product manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of ASME A17.1, ETL, CSA, and other applicable industry codes and standards.
• Experience with embedded controls, firmware, software integration, and automation technologies.
• Hands-on experience with electrical design, circuit board design, control systems, and product enhancements.
• Experience leading Stage-Gate New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept through commercialization.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Standard Work, MRBs, and SCARs.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, installation, service, and field troubleshooting activities.
• ERP system experience (Visual ERP), engineering documentation systems, and project management software.
• Ability to train technical personnel, dealers, and customers on products and systems.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills and experience resolving warranty or field service issues.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access proficiency.
• Experience managing engineering documentation, ECRs, bills of materials, manufacturing drawings, and installation manuals.
• Ability to work with cross-functional groups including Sales, Production, Purchasing, Service, Dealers, Customers, and Executive Leadership.
