Job summary

MAHLE is seeking an Electrical/Mechatronics Design Engineer in Lockport, NY to contribute to eCompressor product development, focusing on motor, electronics, software and integration with mechanical systems.

You will design, develop, test, and validate electronics and motors, create test plans, and participate in innovation, cost and quality initiatives within a hands-on product development team.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience of mechatronics product development.
• Background and job experience in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Work within the MAHLE Electric Compressor Product Engineering Development team to advance product designs and contribute to customer flawless launches.
• Design and development focus for this position is on the eCompressor motor, electronics, software, and integration into the mechanical system.
• Develop and execute test plans for electronics and motor validation.
• Participate in innovation, product cost, and quality improvement initiatives.
• This position requires a hands‑on individual who is expected to participate in all aspects of product development – including product design, component selection, prototype builds, prototype testing, and validation.

Your Contribution

Our Electrical/Mechatronics Design Engineer will contribute to the eCompressor product development activity through engineering design, development testing, and validation of electric AC compressors and is focused on the mechatronics motor and drive subsystem and components.

• Work within the MAHLE Electric Compressor Product Engineering Development team to advance product designs and contribute to customer flawless launches
• Design and development focus for this position is on the eCompressor motor, electronics, software, and integration into the mechanical system.
• Develop and execute test plans for electronics and motor validation
• Participate in innovation, product cost, and quality improvement initiatives

Your Experience & Qualifications

• BS Engineering Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
