Job summary

MAHLE is seeking an Electrical/Mechatronics Design Engineer in Lockport, NY to contribute to eCompressor development, including design, testing, and validation of motors, electronics, and software integrated into the mechanical system.

You will work within the Electric Compressor Product Engineering Development team and participate across design, prototyping, testing, and validation activities, with opportunities for personal and career development.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• 3–5 years in mechatronics product development.
• Background in automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Advance product designs within the MAHLE Electric Compressor Product Engineering Development team and contribute to launches.
• Design and development focus on the eCompressor motor, electronics, software, and integration into the mechanical system.
• Develop and execute test plans for electronics and motor validation.
• Participate in innovation, product cost, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on involvement in all aspects of product development, including design, prototyping, testing and validation.

Our Electrical/Mechatronics Design Engineer will contribute to the eCompressor product development activity through engineering design, development testing, and validation of electric AC compressors and is focused on the mechatronics motor and drive subsystem and components.

• Work within the MAHLE Electric Compressor Product Engineering Development team to advance product designs and contribute to customer flawless launches
• Design and development focus for this position is on the eCompressor motor, electronics, software, and integration into the mechanical system.
• Develop and execute test plans for electronics and motor validation
• Participate in innovation, product cost, and quality improvement initiatives
• This position requires a hands-on individual who is expected to participate in all aspects of product development - including product design, component selection, prototype builds, prototype testing, and validation.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• BS Engineering Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience of mechatronics product development.
• Background and job experience in the automotive industry
