Job summary

MAHLE in Morristown, TN is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support electromechanical products and systems. You will lead manufacturing process improvements, program PLCs, robotics, HMIs, CNC and motion systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and deliver reliable equipment.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; CAD and electrical schematics experience are essential.

  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, HMIs, CNC, motion systems, and CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify programs for production equipment; optimize processes.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, robotics, HMIs, CNC, and motion systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement processes and solve issues.
  • Create technical documentation, work instructions, and diagrams for traceability.
  • Lead quality initiatives including root cause analysis, FMEA, and PPAP.
  • Review PM system to improve machine performance and reliability.
  • Engage with manufacturers and vendors to resolve equipment problems.
  • Write task/cost analyses and proposals for new processes.

Job description

Your Contribution

As an Electrical Engineer reporting to Head of E-compressor Production, this role will focus on research, plan, design, and support mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. Direct and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties.

This Role Is Responsible To
  • Develop and modify programs for various production equipment. Optimize machining, assembly, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Program and troubleshoot systems involving PLCs, robotics, HMIs, CNC, and motion systems.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, management, and cross-functional teams (including customers) to implement processes, resolve issues, and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, reports, visual process diagrams, and prototype/serialization records to ensure consistency and traceability.
  • Lead and support quality initiatives including root cause analysis, corrective actions, FMEA, PPAP activities, audits, and acting as a liaison for customer quality issues.
  • Use of CAD to provide drawing for new or modified mechanical/structural parts, electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics and hydraulic schematics.
  • Review the PM system to help improve machine performance and reliability.
  • Works with manufacturers and vendors to help solve problems with their equipment.
  • Develop and write task analysis, cost analysis and proposals for implementation of new processes or improvements to existing processes.
Your Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering from four-year college or university; or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, robotics, HMIs, CNC, and motion systems, CAD.
