Job summary

Ionbond – The Surface Engineers located in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician with a hands-on approach to electrical and mechanical systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment including vacuum systems while documenting maintenance histories and drawings.

Minimum 3 years in an industrial setting is required; training is available for vacuum technology. Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and willingness to work overtime and travel as needed are

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
Diploma or GED in engineering or technical field preferred.
Experience with vacuum technology is a plus, training may be provided.
Strong understanding of failure mechanisms and root-cause analysis.
Proactive, self-motivated, able to work overtime/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment, cleaner line and plant machinery to ensure optimal operation.
Document and maintain records of equipment notifications, maintenance histories, and technical drawings including blueprints and schematics.
Troubleshoot and repair vacuum systems, handling high-voltage components with confidence.
Assess repair needs, prioritize actions to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
Monitor equipment performance and uptime, implement strategies to reduce breakdowns.
Collaborate with managers and process engineers to address interruptions and downtime.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and support 5S and safety culture.
Perform additional duties as needed.
