Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks a technician for preventive maintenance on sub-assemblies and vacuum systems. You will work independently and in teams, applying electronics, mechanics, and clean room protocols to rebuild components and verify test results.

The role requires troubleshooting ability, reading schematics, and using test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters. Shift is front nights, with a schedule involving Sundays through Tuesdays and select Saturdays.

Qualifications

AS technical degree, electronics or Military electronics certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years’ work-related experience/training preferred.
Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, safety and clean room protocol, and IC fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams and flow charts.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance work.
Work independently and in a team environment on technical tasks.
Apply mechanical techniques and cleaning procedures to rebuild sub-assemblies and mainframe vacuum systems.
Use and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Assist senior technicians in verification testing after PM completion.
Utilize training materials and certification requirements to meet improvement goals.
Use process measurement data to gauge quality of PM work.
Provide input to develop and optimize PM schedules.
