Job summary

Pacific Fusion is seeking an exceptional Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in California for a 12-week, onsite internship starting mid May 2027. You will own a project through planning, design, assembly, and testing, gaining cradle-to-grave design experience and hands-on hardware work.

The role emphasizes fundamentals, embedded systems, and power electronics exposure, with mentorship from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Junior or senior standing in a 4-year Electrical Engineering program
• Strong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals and first principles
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with circuit analysis, power systems, signals, controls, or embedded systems
• Exposure to SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar analysis/simulation tools
• Experience with schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic system documentation
• 6+ months of prior internship, co-op, or substantial project experience

Responsibilities

• Own a project through the planning, design, assembly, and testing phases
• Work cradle-to-grave on design and hands-on testing
• Build and test systems and components for fusion hardware
• Collaborate with mentors and engineering team to meet milestones
