Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer – Mechanical / Electrical to lead electrical installation projects with a strong mechanical focus for large off-highway machines.

You will package, route, protect, and integrate electrical systems across platforms, collaborating across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and supplier teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related accredited discipline.
• Experience leading electrical and mechanical integration projects across complex platforms.
• Ability to coordinate across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and supplier teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and integration of electrical systems within complex vehicle platforms.
• Design components, brackets, harness routing paths, enclosures and installation schemes balancing electrical performance with durability.
• Own cost, quality, validation and schedule for assigned projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability, serviceability and lifecycle efficiency.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to address assembly feasibility and tolerance stack-up.
• Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and performance improvement.
• Drive collaboration across product development, value chain, manufacturing, and product support organizations.
• Lead and participate in design reviews ensuring conformance to standards and best practices.
• Organize, coordinate, and execute prototype builds, testing, and durability assessments.
