Job summary

Cooper Consolidated, a leader in marine cargo handling along the lower Mississippi River, seeks an experienced Industrial Electrician with leadership responsibilities. You will guide maintenance teams, supervise electrical systems for cranes, barges, and terminal operations, and drive reliability improvements in a demanding marine environment.

Required: degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field plus 7 years’ industrial maintenance experience including 3 years in supervision.

Qualifications

• 7 years’ experience in industrial electrical maintenance, including 3 years supervisory/management experience.
• Preferred experience in waterfront/shipyard operations such as cranes or marine terminals.
• Relevant certifications: OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, Master Electrician, PE license (preferred).
• Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in electrical tech.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical maintenance personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
• Establish electrical maintenance standards, procedures, and reliability programs.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for cranes, barges, and terminals.
• Provide technical expertise for power distribution, motor controls, drives, PLCs, and automation systems.
• Direct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company standards.
• Manage contractor relationships and coordinate external electrical services.
• Plan and prioritize electrical resources and capital projects.
• Lead equipment upgrades, modernization, and commissioning activities.
• Develop budgets and support procurement of electrical equipment and parts.
• Drive continuous improvement for reliability and efficiency.
