Base pay range

$26.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Position Description

  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety protective equipment and ISO 14001 EMS guidelines.
  • Perform detailed machine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Day to day coverage of production equipment - respond to breakdowns, and production requests, quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Completing mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities to identify and correct mechanical or electrical defects before they fail.
  • Create and close work orders into SAP CMMS with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
  • Read blueprints, technical and mechanical drawings, Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) and schematics.
  • Use light rigging, such as chain falls, chokers, slings, nylon belts, monorails, eyebolts, shackles, and beam clamps
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling.
  • Maintain housekeeping in shop / maintenance support areas and on the production floor.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.

Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: AAS degree in a maintenance related field or equivalent military training, with 3+ years’ experience is desired. Combination of experience/training will be considered. NCDOL Journeyman Apprentice Maintenance Level I and Level II or equivalent.

Experience

What We Are Looking For:

  • 2 - 5 years or more experience industrial or manufacturing electro-mechanical maintenance, or equivalent military background.
  • Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Experience reading technical drawings and schematics.
  • Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
  • Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
  • Excellent references and attendance record is a must.
  • Ability to troubleshoot / repair industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge and Ability to use standard measurement tools and electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment tech manuals, schematics and blueprints.
  • Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Licensed Industrial Tradesman
  • NCDOL Journeyman Apprentice – Trade Skills Program
  • Previous maintenance experience in a Fiber Optics Cabling organization.
  • Experience programming PLCs.
  • Experience working with 24v, 120v, 240v and 480/3-phase electrical knowledge.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, Arc welding.
  • Experience with a manual lathe and milling machine.
  • Multi-craft capabilities such as: welding, pipe fitting, precision millwright, and lubrication/filtration.
