Job summary

Smurfit WestRock plc in North Tonawanda, NY is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility. You will install, start up, and shut down equipment per OSHA-aligned safety procedures, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and maintain maintenance records.

Overtime may be required on a daily or weekend basis. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background, be safety-focused, and eager to learn and advance within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; electrical background or technical training preferred.
• Experience with electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.

Job: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Shift: 2nd Shift or 3rd Shift (M-F, 3pm - 11pm or 11 pm 7 am)

Overtime: Daily and Weekend as needed.

Support the operation of a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility. Must be able to conduct, maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. Must be able to apply knowledge of electrical/mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restore in all areas of Manufacturing.

Primary duties include the install, start up and shut down of equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown in line with OSHA requirements; inform appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved and maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment. The job also includes performing preventative maintenance functions as directed, assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting and to perform other duties as required.

What you need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Electrical background, Military training and/or technical school preferred
• Ability to maintain various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, and perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to work safely, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and comply with all safety regulations
• A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes
• Computer experience/operation and PLC programming
• Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as required

The starting range is $38 - $41.42/hr, depending on your role, level, and location.

The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 5 days of paid vacation will be granted after 60 working days, and 10 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
