Job summary

Service Center Metals is hiring Industrial Maintenance Technicians for our Prince George, VA facility. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, reading schematics, and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment.

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $25–$45 with a weekly production incentive, a 2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend off, 12-hour shifts, shift differential for night shifts, overtime

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance or related skilled-trades experience.
• Industrial electrical systems knowledge.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
• Motors and motor controls familiarity.
• Mechanical power transmission knowledge.
• Welding and fabrication capabilities.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
• Maintain and repair motors, conveyors, production equipment, and related systems.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Install and assist with the installation of new production equipment.
• Fabricate, repair, and modify equipment as needed.
• Work with Maintenance and Operations to minimize downtime.

Prince George, VA | $25–$45/hour + Weekly Production Incentive

Service Center Metals (SCM), a leader in the aluminum industry, is hiring Industrial Maintenance Technicians for our Prince George, VA manufacturing facility.

Compensation & Schedule

• $25–$45/hour, based on experience and skill level
• Weekly production incentive averaging approximately $5/hour
• 2-2-3 schedule — work only 7 days every two weeks
• Off every other weekend
• 12-hour shifts
• Shift differential for night shift
• Overtime opportunities
• Quarterly bonus opportunities

What You'll Do As A Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Diagnose equipment failures and make necessary repairs and adjustments
• Maintain and repair motors, conveyors, production equipment, and related systems
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and wiring diagrams
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
• Install and assist with the installation of new production equipment
• Fabricate, repair, and modify equipment as needed
• Work closely with Maintenance and Operations to minimize equipment downtime

What We're Looking For

Ideal candidates will have experience in several of the following areas:

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance or related skilled-trades experience is preferred.
• Industrial electrical systems
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Motors and motor controls
• Mechanical power transmission
• Welding and fabrication
• Reading electrical and mechanical schematics
• Preventive maintenance
• High school diploma or GED required.

This is a hands‑on industrial position requiring employees to regularly lift 20–50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, and work in hot (120 degrees) and cold manufacturing environments.
