HandCraft Services in Richmond, VA is hiring a Maintenance Technician 2. The role is Sunday through Wednesday, 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM, offering $27.38 hourly with excellent benefits.

You will perform safety-compliant maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs on industrial equipment while collaborating across departments to keep operations efficient. The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, and strong mechanical/electrical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• Has minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in industrial setting.
• Has strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles.
• Basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting.
• Understands basic hand tool functions.
• Team-focused attitude and flexibility to work in fast-paced environments.
• Physically able to perform job duties.
• Capable of operating forklifts and scissor lifts.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safety compliance during maintenance activities and hazard mitigation.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure equipment effectiveness.
• Document maintenance activities and reports.
• Coordinate with team and provide technical support.
• Train junior technicians and transfer knowledge.

Maintenance Technician 2 Responsibilities:

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and carry out preventative maintenance procedures and tasks on equipment.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Operational Support: Work with other departments to ensure overall equipment effectiveness.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians and relevant departments to coordinate maintenance activities, share knowledge, and provide technical support when needed.
• Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians to enhance their technical skills and ensure the effective transfer of knowledge within the team.
• Other duties as assigned

Maintenance Technician 2 Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Additional technical certifications preferred)
• Has minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting or equivalent.
• Has strong mechanical aptitude.
• Has a strong working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles.
• Has a basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting.
• Understands basic hand tool functions.
• Has a great team focused attitude.
• Is excited to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
• Is physically able to perform the duties of the job.
• Is able to operate support equipment (i.e. Forklifts, Scissor Lifts)
• Has strong communication skills.
• Is willing to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays.
