Job summary

Astrix in Dayton, OH is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift. You will support electrical and mechanical systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, performing preventive and breakdown maintenance with a 2-2-3 night schedule (6 PM–6 AM).

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with PLCs and electrical testing tools. Competitive pay and full benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of maintenance experience is required.
• Hands-on electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Understanding of 480V electrical systems or lower.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on facility and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Respond to equipment alarms, breakdowns, and maintenance requests.
• Work with electrical systems up to 480V.
• Troubleshoot motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and other equipment.
• Use testing equipment such as multimeters and circuit testers.
• Complete work orders and maintenance logs.
• Update maintenance procedures and equipment documentation.
• Support contractors working onsite.

Pay: $25–$35/hour, based on experience. Shift Differential: Additional 15% for night shift + Bonus Eligibility.

Schedule: Night Shift: 2-2-3 style schedule | 6 PM–6 AM

About The Role

We are looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Technician to support equipment, facility systems, and electrical systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance on facility and production equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment
• Respond to equipment alarms, breakdowns, and maintenance requests
• Work with electrical systems up to 480V
• Troubleshoot motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and other equipment
• Work with PLC-controlled equipment, wiring, and electrical components
• Use electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and circuit testers
• Monitor facility utilities and electrical distribution systems
• Identify equipment problems and determine root causes
• Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and repair documentation
• Update maintenance procedures and equipment documentation
• Support contractors working onsite
• Assist with small facility improvement projects
• Follow OSHA, safety, cGMP, GDP, and FDA requirements
• Support overtime or additional coverage when needed

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1+ years of maintenance experience
• Hands‑on electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Understanding of 480V electrical systems or lower
• Experience with electrical test equipment
• Knowledge of PLCs, wiring, motor controls, and automation systems
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, or engineering documents

Nice to Have

• Technical degree, certification, or trade school experience
• Pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing experience
• Experience with cGMP/FDA-regulated environments
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment experience
