Job summary

Helion Group is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Electrician for a cutting-edge steel facility in Apple Grove, WV. This role focuses on commissioning, startup, and ongoing electrical/mechanical repairs in a highly automated environment.

You will troubleshoot Siemens S7 PLCs, diagnose high-voltage equipment from 480V to 13.5kV, and configure ABB/Siemens/WEG VFDs while reading electrical/hydraulic schematics. Motor replacement and motor control integration are also key duties.

Qualifications

• Hands-on industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Siemens S7 PLCs and logic editing.
• Ability to diagnose high-voltage systems and motor drives.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and edit Siemens S7 PLC logic and code.
• Diagnose high-voltage systems (480V–13.5kV+).
• Troubleshoot/configure VFDs from ABB, Siemens and WEG.
• Diagnose PLC-to-VFD communication and speed-reference issues.
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Perform motor replacements including mechanical installation and electrical connections.
• Support equipment commissioning, startup and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with operators to resolve issues and improve reliability.

This is an opportunity to work with advanced automation, complex electrical systems, and cutting-edge manufacturing equipment.The ideal candidate is a hands-on troubleshooter who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and perform both electrical and mechanical repairs.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and edit existing Siemens S7 PLC logic.Diagnose high-voltage systems, including 480V, 4,160V, 13.5kV, and 345kV equipment.Troubleshoot and configure VFDs, including ABB, Siemens, and WEG.Diagnose PLC-to-VFD communication and speed-reference issues.Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.Perform complete motor replacements, including mechanical installation and electrical connections.Support equipment commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.Work closely with operators to resolve equipment issues and improve reliability.Required QualificationsStrong industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.Hands-on PLC experience, preferably Siemens S7, including logic edits.Experience with high-voltage electrical systems above 480V.Strong VFD troubleshooting and configuration skills.Mechanical aptitude and experience replacing motors and industrial equipment.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.Preferred: Experience with multiple PLC platforms, heavy manufacturing, commissioning, and formal electrical training or apprenticeship.
