Job description

Electrical Maintenance Services Supervisor

• Oversee the Electrical skilled trades and staff under the Maintenance Services unit of Facilities Services.
• Oversee work and projects requiring skilled electrical and high voltage maintenance, construction, retrofit, repair, and tenant improvements throughout the campus community.
• Supervise the maintenance, repair, installation or modification of industrial electrical systems; oversee the maintenance and operation of the campus primary and secondary distribution systems.
• Develop and monitor a preventative maintenance program.
• Manage clear and accurate documentation of all inspections, testing and maintenance performed.
• Provide direct supervision to trade staff: assign and direct daily work assignments; review work for quality and completion; monitor work orders and close out completed work orders.
• Coordinate utility shut-downs; ensure communication and notices are provided to impacted customers; minimize impact to customers.
• Review plans, specifications, and requisitions for projects to establish daily, weekly, and long-range work schedules.
• Obtain and maintain stock inventory of parts, materials and equipment necessary for timely completion of projects.
• Coordinate, facilitate and monitor safety and technical training programs.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and maintained.
• Promote and maintain a strong customer-service-focused environment and cooperative teamwork philosophy in the unit.
• Responsible for daily operational administration and personnel management, including staffing, hiring, training, disciplinary action, termination, and performance management.
• Maintain knowledge of building and safety codes, hazardous material handling and disposal, and labor contracts.
• Provide operational support to other Facilities Services units, as necessary.

Qualifications: Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. The university is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for staff.
