Job summary
Charter Wire in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment in a fast-paced plant.
The role offers a 6:00 AM–2:00 PM shift, a $40+ hourly rate based on experience, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits. Must have 5+ years of maintenance experience or a technical degree; PLC familiarity is a plus.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience OR technical degree in a related field OR journeyman’s card
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and code books
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, controls, and codes
- Experience with line setups, inspections, and electrical testing equipment
- Solid math skills (fractions, percentages, measurements)
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot electromechanical equipment using hand tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Diagnose and resolve issues using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep production running efficiently
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development
