The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years in electrical maintenance within a machine shop and 3+ years in a union shop supervisory role.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
• 5+ years electrical maintenance experience in a machine shop environment.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a union shop preferred.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS software; able to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day supervision of maintenance personnel.
• Promotes a Safety conscious work environment.
• Trains maintenance department staff.
• Determine work schedules and assignments based on priority and skill.
• Monitor inventories and maintain safe working conditions in the shop.
• Order repair material and spare parts as needed.
• Analyze equipment failures to prevent recurrence.
• Test operation of machinery using voltmeters and test devices.
• Perform root cause analysis to determine failures and corrective actions.
• Assist in capital expenditures planning by advising on upgrade needs.
• Record repairs and maintenance performed; compile relevant data.
• Develop or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
• Support departmental budget estimates and cost projections.
• Ensure work is completed correctly and on time.
• Counsel employees on work issues and skill development.
• Investigate accidents and prepare findings.
