Job summary

Howard Industries seeks an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a transformer manufacturing facility in Brownsville, TX. You will ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability for high- and low-voltage systems and specialized production lines.

The role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance, PLC-driven machinery, and continuous improvement through OEE analysis and RCA. You will lead maintenance teams, work with vendors, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
3–5 years of maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (transformer or automotive preferred).

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance of low, medium, and high-voltage distribution systems.
Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled machinery (Siemens/Allen-Bradley/others), VFDs, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Implement and manage predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, and oil analysis.
Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with Mexican Official Standards NOM-001-SED and NOM-029-STPS.
Analyze Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to reduce downtime.
Supervise external vendors and contractors during major overhauls or new equipment installations.
Manage the inventory of critical electrical spare parts to minimize MTTR.
