Job summary

Howard Industries designs electrical distribution transformers and is seeking a Design Engineer to drive transformer projects from concept through production. You will review specifications, develop designs, and support cost-saving initiatives while assisting marketing and customers with technical inquiries.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and bring knowledge of transformers, electrical machines, and electromagnetic fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Preferred: Power systems, electrical machines, electromagnetic fields concentration.
• Experience with designing electrical transformers preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office products (Excel, Word, Access).
• Strong written and oral communication skills; programming ability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical distribution transformers; perform specification and design reviews.
• Support product development, cost savings analyses, quotes, and reliability improvements.
• Provide technical support to Marketing and external customers; assist factory with production issues.

Design Engineer – Electrical

Job Description:

As a member of the technical staff, the Design Engineer is responsible for the design of electrical distribution transformers. This includes specification reviews, design reviews, product development, cost savings analysis, quotes and quality and reliability improvements. The engineer will provide technical support for Marketing and external customers and also be responsible for factory support.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering

Preferred Requirements:

• Electrical Power Systems, Electrical Machines, Electromagnetic Fields Concentration and/or previous work experience with design of electrical transformers
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, and Access)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD software
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Programming skills
