Job summary

Universal Stainless is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to support maintenance, capital projects, and reliability at the Bridgeville, PA facility. You will troubleshoot complex industrial equipment, plan outages, and drive improvements across electrical systems in a heavy manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of electrical experience in steel or heavy industry, a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and hands-on project management skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in a steel mill or heavy industrial setting.
• Experience with project management is preferred.
• Experience with low and medium voltage electrical gear is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance team with technical electrical expertise during repairs, outages, and preventative maintenance.
• Plan engineering priorities, schedules, and project activities based on production needs.
• Develop project plans including scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risk.
• Monitor expenditures and control project spending.
• Coordinate projects with contractors, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering.
• Direct and manage onsite contractors involved in engineering and project execution.
• Provide engineering support for new equipment installations and process improvements.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and industrial equipment.
• Identify reliability issues and develop corrective actions with the Preventive Maintenance team.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for equipment performance, safety, and efficiency.
• Manage and coordinate major plant electrical outages with stakeholders.
• Coordinate equipment rebuilds and repairs on-site and off-site.
