Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Trainee at our Rincon, GA facility. You will work under experienced technicians to learn to troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair electrical equipment in a manufacturing setting, with a culture of safety and reliability.

This role emphasizes hands-on learning, technical training and guided experiences to build electrical maintenance knowledge while supporting plant operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Enrollment in an electrical maintenance, industrial technology, or related program.
• Experience safely using basic hand and power tools.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on motors, drives, sensors, control panels, and related equipment.
• Support troubleshooting of electrical and control system issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
• Assist with testing electrical circuits, motors, and equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Learn and follow all electrical safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Electrical Safe Work Practices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete assigned documentation.
• Work with mentors and supervisors to complete apprenticeship training requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in all work areas.
