Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Administration seeks an Electrical/Machine Shop Supervisor to lead electricians and machinists, ensuring licensed, safe, and code-compliant work in state facilities. You will oversee the Capitol Complex SCADA, maintenance programs, cost estimates, and emergency responses.

Qualified candidates hold a Class A Minnesota Master Electrician license, a Class D driver’s license, and have 3+ years of supervisory experience in a technical trades setting.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of supervisory or lead experience with electricians, machinists, or skilled trades workers.
• Class A Minnesota Master Electrician’s license is required.
• Class D driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electricians and machinists who maintain, repair, and build out electrical systems in state buildings.
• Serve as Master of Record to ensure electrical work is licensed, permitted, and code compliant.
• Direct the Capitol Complex SCADA system and manage shop maintenance, thermal imaging, and arc flash safety programs.
• Prepare cost estimates and budgets and respond to emergencies and unplanned repairs.
• Occasionally travel to support facilities in Mankato and Bemidji; travel may include overnight stays.
