Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Administration is seeking an Electrician to provide skilled electrical work across buildings in the Capitol Complex. Duties include installing, maintaining and repairing wiring, reviewing plans, estimating costs, and using test instruments to troubleshoot systems.

Responsibilities also cover preventative maintenance, parts purchasing, and recordkeeping using a computer maintenance program.

Qualifications

• Must hold Minnesota Class A Journey Worker license and Class D driver's license.
• License status must be clearly indicated in resume.

Responsibilities

• Install, alter, maintain and repair electrical wiring, apparatus and equipment for communication, lighting, heating, and power, following codes.
• Review plans, blueprints, and specifications for electrical projects.
• Recommend project changes and define detailed tasks and scope.
• Estimate time, labor and materials costs.
• Use modern electrical test instruments to troubleshoot systems and make repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs and suggest changes.
• Purchase parts and supplies per state rules.
• Maintain records and drawings using the computer maintenance program
