Aerotek is seeking an Electrical Machine Builder to install and assemble electrical systems on OEM equipment in a heavy industrial setting. The role emphasizes reading schematics, wiring panels, and integrating control systems to ensure safe, reliable operation per customer specs.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of electrical experience, be skilled in panel wiring and conduit work, and able to work in a union shop environment. First shift, onsite in Hudson, OH.

Qualifications

Job Title: Electrical Machine Builder
Job Description

The Electrical Machine Builder installs and assembles electrical systems and components on newly manufactured OEM equipment. This role focuses on interpreting electrical schematics, wiring panels, integrating control systems, and ensuring machinery operates safely and reliably according to customer specifications within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Install switches, controls, conduits, junction boxes, wiring circuits, and a variety of electrical components on newly manufactured OEM equipment.

  • Analyze and interpret electrical schematic drawings to plan the layout and installation of electrical components.

  • Assemble and integrate electrical components into machines to ensure proper functionality and alignment with design requirements.

  • Perform precise wiring for electrical panels, ensuring clean, organized, and code-compliant installations.

  • Install electronic control panels and associated mechanical or electrical equipment on industrial machinery.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues within electrical circuits, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

  • Configure and operate machinery to verify functionality and ensure it meets customer specifications and performance standards.

  • Pull wire and mount boxes in accordance with electrical schematics and installation standards.

  • Work with rigid conduit, including measuring, cutting, bending, and installing conduit runs for wiring protection.

  • Maintain and use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively while performing electrical assembly tasks.

Essential Skills
  • At least 3 years of experience as an electrician or in electrical machine building.

  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical schematic drawings.

  • Proficiency in electrical wiring, panel wiring, and electrical assembly for industrial equipment.

  • Hands-on experience working with rigid conduit, including installation and routing.

  • Ability to pull wire and mount electrical boxes following schematics and layout plans.

  • Experience building and wiring electrical panels and control systems.

  • Solid understanding of electrical circuits and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.

  • Ownership and proficient use of basic hand and power tools required for electrical work.

  • Experience working in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Electrical machine building for OEM or industrial equipment.

  • Experience with panel building and electrical panel integration.

  • Familiarity with configuring and operating industrial machinery to validate electrical installations.

  • Comfort working in a unionized shop environment.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in a heavy industrial, union shop environment on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The facility is a large manufacturing plant where mixing machines for the tire industry are built, with conditions similar to a mechanic shop, including some grease on the floors and an active production atmosphere. Team members work around industrial equipment and machinery, using hand and power tools and electrical assembly equipment while adhering to safety practices appropriate for a busy manufacturing setting. Work attire should be suitable for an industrial shop, including sturdy boots and protective work glasses.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
