Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass drug, alcohol, background, MVR, and clearinghouse checks.
• Must be safety-conscious and follow all safety protocols.
• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able and willing to work long hours, including overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on construction, maintenance, and repair of power lines.
• Assist in setting poles and anchors per safety specs.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, working condition.
• Learn to read blueprints and identify structural or equipment issues.
• Work from aerial devices at heights under supervision.
• Assist in assembling and erecting poles of varying heights.
• Participate in framing and setting pole structures on de-energized poles.
• Assist in installing line hardware and compression connections.
• Learn proper PPE use and rubber goods inspection.
• Climb wood and steel poles/structures safely with proper tools.
• Understand grounding procedures and minimum approach distances.
• Learn material types and equipment setup principles used in line work.
• Function within a crew and learn from others.
• Practice flagging and tagging procedures.
