Job summary

City of Gillette, WY seeks an Electric Lineman to assist in constructing, maintaining, and repairing the electric utility system. The role covers overhead and underground distribution, as well as substation and transmission work.

Operates bucket trucks and climbs poles to service lines, terminates underground wire, and troubleshoots equipment per manufacturer specs and safety codes. CDL required within six months. Full-time position with on-site field work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and lineman training or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain Wyoming Class A CDL within six months of hire.
• Lift up to 70 pounds and work in varied weather.
• Work from aerial lifts and climb wood structures up to 100 feet.
• Willingness to work outside traditional schedules and potential call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution infrastructure.
• Install and service electrical substation system equipment and transmission infrastructure.
• Operate digger, bucket trucks, wire puller, and other equipment safely.
• Troubleshoot power lines and locate electrical infrastructure.
• Adhere to all safety policies and guidelines (NEC, OSHA, APPA).
• Perform related duties as assigned.
