Job summary

The City of Gillette is seeking an Electrical Services worker to assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing the electric utility infrastructure. This role includes working on overhead and underground distribution, substations, and transmission systems, with required safety adherence.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and lineman training, and be able to obtain Wyoming Class A CDL within six months. Physical work includes climbing poles and operating heavy equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED AND completion of an electrical lineman training school or closely related experience OR equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a Wyoming Class A CDL within six months of hire.
  • May be required to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to work from an aerial lift and climb wood structures up to 100 ft.
  • May be exposed to dangerous machinery and high voltage work areas.
  • May be required to work outside normal hours or be on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical substation system equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair transmission system infrastructure.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Operate digger truck, bucket truck, wire puller, front-end loader, backhoe, and related equipment.
  • Work from bucket trucks or poles to service lines and equipment.
