Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a lineworker in Bartlesville, OK to assist in installing, maintaining, operating and inspecting transmission and distribution facilities. You will drive line trucks and operate associated equipment to ensure safe, reliable service.

Minimum education is High School/GED; no experience required but line work or line school is preferred. A valid CDL or ability to obtain one within six months is required. Expect 40-hour weeks with overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; line work or line school preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL license or obtain one within six months.
• Must live within 35 miles of the service location.
• Overtime and travel as required; weekend/holiday availability.

Responsibilities

• Open and close switches; install grounding devices.
• Climb poles or ride bucket to install/repair hardware.
• Install and repair underground facilities and pole hardware.
• Work on energized lines with safety gear up to 138 kV.
• Perform energized line work up to 15 kV with rubber gloves.
