Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager for Water, Wastewater & Industrial Facilities in Atlanta, GA. Lead electrical design from concept through construction, mentoring staff and maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires a PE license (preferred) or plan to obtain within two years, and deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, NEMA standards. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years of progressive electrical engineering experience in municipal water/wastewater and/or industrial facilities.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure within two years.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, NEMA and applicable standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design for water/wastewater treatment plants and industrial facilities.
• Develop conceptual electrical designs and provide technical leadership across all project phases.
• Design electrical power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and standby systems.
• Lead instrumentation and control system design (PLC, SCADA, networking).
• Manage projects including planning, scheduling, budgets, and client coordination.
• Serve as primary technical contact with clients, utilities, vendors, and regulators.
• Supervise and mentor engineers in calculations, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Review deliverables for quality and compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Coordinate equipment selection, vendor quotes, shop drawings, and commissioning.
