Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems. You will assemble, test, and repair wiring, motors, transformers, and related components according to plans and codes.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to standards, with opportunities to read prints and contribute to project success in a Center, ND setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and relevant electrical training.
• Two years of related experience or more in electrical maintenance/installation.
• Certifications or diploma from a trade/technical program preferred.
• Apprentice aptitude tested and union training may be required.
• Driver’s license and ability to read plans are expected.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or components.
• Test systems with ohmmeters, voltmeters or scopes for safety and compatibility.
• Repair and maintain high voltage systems and electrical equipment.
• Study drawings and work orders to plan repairs or installations.
• Adhere to electrical codes, standards, and safety procedures.
• Maintain safe work environment and participate in training.
• Read prints, layout work, and install new service as needed.
• Contribute to team effort and assist with other duties.
