Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking an Electrical Intern to join our team and contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. You will gain hands-on experience while supporting projects that shape communities and address climate change.

Work alongside experienced engineers, using Revit and BIM tools to develop drawings and calculations, with opportunities to learn design software like Design Master and SKM in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• Coursework in electrical power systems, control systems, or building systems design.
• Interest in electrical engineering with emphasis on the power side.
• Familiarity with BIM modelling software such as Revit or AutoCAD.
• Internship experience at an engineering-related firm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Using Revit, prepare technical drawings, schedules, and reports.
• Analyze load to determine system sizing, and assign circuitry for power and lighting devices.
• Undertake electrical engineering building services design and calculations using Design Master and SKM.

Your key duties

• Using Revit, prepare technical drawings, schedules, and reports
• Analyzeload todeterminesystem sizing, and assign circuitry for power and lighting devices
• Undertake electrical engineering building services design and calculations (using software and knowledge to verify robust calculations such as Design Master and SKM)
• Embrace the latest technologies to improve performance and sustainability

Your skills and experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• Coursework in electrical power systems design, control systems, and/or building systems design
• Interest in the electrical engineering industry with an emphasis on the power side of the discipline
• Academic research, coursework, or other experience with alternative energy systems and other technologies new to the construction industry preferred
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software, such as Revit, AutoCAD
• Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environment
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner
• Eagerness to learnand work as part of a multidisciplinary team
