Job summary

King Plastic Corporation in North Port, FL is seeking an experienced E&I Technician to install, calibrate, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems in a manufacturing environment.

You will troubleshoot issues, read schematics, support process improvements, and maintain accurate maintenance records while adhering to safety protocols and working a Sunday-Thursday night shift 11:00pm–7:30am.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in electrical/instrumentation technology required.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in testing/diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, calibrators).
  • Familiarity with PLCs automation systems, HMI integration.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical/instrumentation systems and sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams for installations and repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to support process improvements and optimal performance.
  • Maintain documentation: work orders, logs, and inventories.

Job description

  • Sunday-Thursday 11:00pm - 7:30am (8-hour shifts)
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical systems and instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to perform installations and repairs accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support process improvements and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment inventories.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new electrical and instrumentation systems and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.

Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Proven experience as an E&I Technician or in a similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in the use of testing and diagnostic equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and calibrators.
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) automation systems integration, and HMI’s.
  • Competent in 120/220/480V wiring for in installations and troubleshooting systems and circuits
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or certification in electrical/instrumentation technology required.
Typical Physical And Mental Demands/Work Environment
  • Work full shifts in areas where temperatures may exceed 100°F during summer months.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently climb, bend, reach, squat, twist, push, and pull.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing approximately 50+ lbs.
  • Work around manufacturing machinery, noise, dust, and other production conditions.
  • Maintaining physical endurance throughout extended shifts.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Wear required PPE (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) and maintain attention and productivity throughout duration of shift.
