Job summary

King Plastic Corporation in North Port, Florida, is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for night shift (Sunday-Thursday, 11:00pm–7:30am). This role installs, calibrates, and maintains electrical systems and instrumentation, troubleshoots issues to minimize downtime, and supports process improvements while ensuring safety compliance.

You must read schematics, work with PLC/HMI systems, and document maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or certification in electrical/instrumentation technology required.
• Experience in an industrial setting as an E&I technician is preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort working night shift and in high-temperature environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical systems and instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and ensure safety standards.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to support process improvements and system performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inventories.
• Assist in design and implementation of new electrical/instrumentation systems and upgrades.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE; promote a safe working environment.
• Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
• Report to work as scheduled and maintain attendance.

About this position

Description:

• Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical systems and instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Proven experience as an E&I Technician or in a similar role in an industrial setting.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems, and instrumentation.
• Proficient in the use of testing and diagnostic equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and calibrators.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) automation systems integration, and HMI’s.
• Competent in 120/220/480V wiring for in installations and troubleshooting systems and circuits
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or certification in electrical/instrumentation technology required.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands/Work Environment

• Work full shifts in areas where temperatures may exceed 100°F during summer months.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently climb, bend, reach, squat, twist, push, and pull.
• Lift and carry materials weighing approximately 50+ lbs.
• Work around manufacturing machinery, noise, dust, and other production conditions.
• Maintaining physical endurance throughout extended shifts.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Wear required PPE (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) and maintain attention and productivity throughout duration of shift.
