Job summary

TC Energy seeks an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation/Controls Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain compressor stations, meter stations, and related pipeline facilities in the Portland, Indiana area. You will handle calibration, testing, and repairs of electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, using PLCs, meters, transmitters, and regulators.

The role requires self-motivation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a related industry.
• Thorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures.
• Basic knowledge of engine mechanics.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, repair, and maintain compressor station, meter station, and related facilities.
• Oversee installation, start-up, and repair of measurement and regulation equipment (meters, gauges, flow computers, transmitters, valves).
• Maintain and service natural gas driven compressor units and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Maintain power, process controls, PLCs, and related instrumentation.
• Assemble and wire instrumentation and electrical equipment; follow safety standards.
• Diagnose malfunctions and locate faults using test equipment and hand tools.
• Document procedures and inspections; support DOT audits and gas quality testing.
• Coordinate with field personnel during maintenance and emergencies.
