Job summary

Chemours Washington Works site in Parkersburg, WV seeks an Electrical & Instrument Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve electrical and instrumentation equipment across the plant. You will support reliability with operations, maintenance and technical teams.

The role involves calibrating instruments, configuring PLC/DCS, working with control valves and analyzers, and using SAP for work orders and reporting. A strong background in electrical maintenance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years of Electrical Maintenance and/or Industrial Instrumentation experience or related certification.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair 480 VAC motors, starters, VFDs and related electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical control circuits (24 VDC, 120 VAC).
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs and DCS systems.
• Perform instrument calibration and repair of instrumentation.
• Document maintenance in SAP and communicate status to Supervisors.

The Chemours Company is seeking an Electrical & Instrument Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The Electrical & Instrument Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical and instrumentation equipment used throughout the manufacturing site. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams to support equipment reliability, complete maintenance activities, and assist with improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair 480 VAC motors, motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and related electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, including 24 VDC and 120 VAC systems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Perform instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Maintain and repair control valves, analyzers, and other industrial instrumentation.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders and maintain accurate information in SAP.
• Communicate equipment repair status and operating issues to Production Supervisors, Maintenance Coordinators, and other team members.
• Work closely with Technical Engineers and Area Supervisors on maintenance activities, equipment improvements, and projects.
• Participate in mechanical reliability teams and continuous improvement activities.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing equipment to complete electrical and instrumentation maintenance work.

Required

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant Electrical Maintenance and/or Industrial Instrumentation experience OR completion of an Associate degree, Journeyman Certification, NCCER certification, or vocational/technical program directly related to Electrical Maintenance or Instrumentation.
• Relevant field experience may also be considered.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, or maintaining industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Experience with 480 VAC motors, motor starters, and VFDs.
• Experience troubleshooting 24 VDC and 120 VAC control circuits.
• Experience working with PLCs and/or DCS systems.
• Experience performing instrument calibration and maintaining control valves or analyzers.
• Experience using SAP or a similar computerized maintenance management system.
