Job summary

Midwest Technical Institute, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Instructor to educate and mentor adult students preparing for careers in the electrical trade.

The role focuses on delivering structured classroom learning and hands-on lab experiences using an established curriculum and industry best practices. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, relevant electrical industry experience, and a passion for helping others succeed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional electrical industry experience.
  • Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, codes, and safety standards.
  • Current industry certifications preferred, where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on lab training using an established curriculum.
  • Demonstrate industry best practices, safety standards, and electrical techniques.
  • Evaluate student progress through assignments, practical assessments, and exams.
  • Prepare students for industry certifications and entry-level employment.
  • Maintain a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
  • Track student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Ensure lab equipment and materials are maintained and ready for instruction.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to support student success and continuous program improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends and maintain applicable certifications.
