Job summary

Strada Services in Tucson, AZ is seeking DL Installers & Apprentices to install electrical rough and finish systems in new home developments in strict accordance with NEC codes.

Responsibilities include installing wiring, conduits, circuit breakers, and testing; reading blueprints; lifting up to 50 pounds; and using hand and power tools on-site. A HS diploma and valid driver’s license are required, apprenticeship and license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of formal electrical apprenticeship preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years of fast-paced residential electrical new construction experience.

Responsible for installing various types of electrical rough and finish systems in new home developments according to local and NEC codes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential new construction homes.
• Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
• Ensures piping complies with electrical codes.
• Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
• Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.
• Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
• Inspects electrical components to ensure safety, and correct installation.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, and blueprints, to identify proper wire placement.
• Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
• Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Fully understands local and federal regulations for safe electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Self-motivated and driven to get the job done quickly and to the best of their ability.
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good work ethic and willingness to learn new methods.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years of fast-paced residential electrical new construction experience.
• Must be able to install boxes, wire, devices, lighting, breakers, and equipment according to local and NEC codes.
• Must possess own hand tools and power tools to execute electrical jobs.
• A Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Report.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
• Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
