The role requires a qualified electrician with a strong track record in managing installations, coordinating with clients, and guiding site personnel to meet project timelines.

Competenze

• Qualified Electrician (Trade Test Certificate) or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical installations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with commercial project installations (retail, offices, hospitality).
• Strong knowledge of SA electrical regulations (SANS) and safety standards.

About the Role

Our client, a reputable electrical contracting firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Installation Supervisor for commercial projects in the Upington, Northern Cape region. This on-site role requires a leader with a strong background in electrical installations, excellent supervisory skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of installation teams, ensuring that all electrical work is performed in accordance with project specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing installation projects from start to finish, coordinating with clients, project managers, and site personnel. This is an excellent opportunity to lead significant commercial electrical installations and contribute to the development of the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage teams of electricians and electrical apprentices on commercial construction sites.
• Plan and coordinate daily installation activities to ensure project timelines and milestones are met.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant SANS regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship quality and adherence to safety protocols.
• Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, and provide guidance to installation crews.
• Manage materials and equipment on site, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper usage.
• Liaise with project managers, site engineers, clients, and other contractors to address issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Promote a strong safety culture on site, conducting toolbox talks and enforcing safety procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related issues encountered on site.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician (Trade Test Certificate) or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical installations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial project installations (e.g., retail spaces, office buildings, hospitality).
• Thorough knowledge of South African electrical regulations (SANS) and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with site management and coordination.
• Valid driver's license is essential.
• First Aid certification is a plus.
