Job summary

NJLM is seeking a part-time Inspector in Plainsboro Township, NJ, for up to 20 hours per week. Under the Director of Code Enforcement/Construction Official, you will conduct daily inspections, prepare reports, cite violations, and follow up, while coordinating with the Electrical Subcode Official on plan conformance with the UCC and township ordinances.

Must have a valid UCC Electrical Inspector license and NJ driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires valid UCC Electrical Inspector license and NJ driver's license.
• 1–3 years' experience in code enforcement, inspection, repair, maintenance and/or construction.
• Must attend required training to maintain State certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled daily inspections and prepare inspection reports.
• Cite violations and perform follow-up; respond to complaints.
• Confers with Electrical Subcode Official on plan conformance with the UCC and township ordinances; keep supervisor informed.

Job description

Part-time for up to 20 hours per week, weekdays only (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday), with some schedule flexibility. Under the direction of the Director of Code Enforcement/Construction Official, the Inspector conducts scheduled daily inspections; prepares inspection reports, cites violations and performs follow-up; responds to complaints; confers with the Electrical Subcode Official on plan conformance with the UCC and Township ordinances; and keeps the supervisor informed. Requires valid UCC Electrical Inspector license (multiple licenses a plus), valid NJ driver's license, and 1-3 years' experience in code enforcement, inspection, repair, maintenance and/or construction. Must attend required training to maintain State certification. Hourly rate $47.00-$58.00, commensurate with experience, certifications and education. Non-union position; earned sick leave, family leave, and DCRP participation when eligible. Available immediately.
