Job summary

The City of Appleton is seeking a full-time Electrical Inspector to perform inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for compliance with City and State codes. This role includes reviewing plans, issuing permits, investigating complaints, and coordinating with property owners and builders.

You will conduct onsite inspections, prepare daily reports, and participate in boards and policy discussions under the supervision of the Inspections Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Competent electrician with knowledge of electrical and building codes.
• Experience interpreting plans and specifications for compliance.
• Ability to interact professionally with owners, builders, and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans for electrical installations and issues permits.
• Performs onsite inspections to ensure compliance with NEC and state/city codes.
• Investigates complaints and coordinates with stakeholders.
• Completes daily inspection reports and participates in department boards.
